  1.
  2. dear sir my question is if charges in motion creates both electric and magnetic field then in the bohr's theory of hydrogen atom as electron is revolving around the nuclues then how only coulomb's law is accounted for centripetal acceleration even magneetic force should be considered why it is not done

    Ans 1 ->
    But magnetic field affects only moving charges(F=q(v*b)) And the nucleus is stationary.. So magnetic force is zero ...

    Ans 2 ->
    PLz check it out even the nuclues also revolves.
    9 years ago by srinivas
    Ans 3 ->
    Rotational speed of nucleus is negligible .. Hence it was neglected by Bohr . Even the schrodinger eqn can be solved after taking the approximation that rotational speed is low..So the magnetic force is not taken into account ...
